Wall-E, Eve-Aaah!

We finally got to watch Wall-E! A few days after I blogged about Wall-E not being shown the same time as it was released ini the US, it was actually released here!
Watched it with the little one of course, and he enjoyed it a lot!
As usual, Pixar didn't let us down. I don't think there's ever been a Pixar movie we didn't like. This was one of the few things my husband and I sorta bonded together about when we were still dating. We both love NY and we both love anything made by Pixar.
So far, ironically, the only Pixar movie I least liked was Ratatouille. I say ironically because it's the one (or one of those) who actually won an oscar
I guess I didn't watch it with my full attention... and the only one I believe we didn't watch in the theaters. I gotta watch it again with my full attention.
anyway, going back to Wall-E, I thought it would again bore me because of the premise of the story. It's a robot, left alone on earth to clean all our trash. And then falling in love with another robot... I was hesitant to bring my son because the moment he gets bored, he starts asking to leave the movie house. BUT, we decided to push through anyway because we promised him a day all about him after all that's been going on with us, he deserved a break...
The beginning actually bored me a bit, or it was setting the mood for boredom because of the monotony of the visuals. It was the same shade everywhere, the rust of wall-e, the yellow of the sun, brown of the soil and trash.. oh plus the color of that immortal cockroach.
Then things started getting interesting back at Wall-E's Crib! There was a showcase of things Wall-E collected from all the trash he compacts and pile to tower heights, he'd find one or two itemsm interesting and put it in his cute little "coleman" lunchbox and brings it back to his place.
The casette tapes, VHS, lighters... classic stuff. Oh, the plastic spoon and fork ... then the "spork" hahah hilarious! Of course there's his one and only buddy the immortal cockroach. I call him immortal because he's been stepped on one too many times but he's still alive! Wall-E needed a psychic i guess.
Then came Eve-aah! Cute but fierce modern bot looking for signs of life at planet earth so the spaceship can finally land back on earth where people can start living normal lives again.
Eve-Aaa (that's just how Wall-E pronounces EVE) didn't play much, she was a supporting, supporting actress I guess. She was on "hibernate" mode on most of the sweet moments anyway.
I love how Pixar portrayed humans when that time comes. Technology has overtaken most of our daily lives that no one needs to stand up for anything. Robots and technology will take care of it... and people'd be sooo fat, drinking everything they need from an upsized glass and they won't talk face to face anymore. They won't even be able to handle their own weight! Much like a baby trying to walk for the first time.
Overall, wall-e was trying to make a statement or two. Not just the whole robots falling in love but it's a lot about taking care of our environment and ourselves.
It's a good shot. Children are watching it with their parents, they'd get more concious of the environment and eating right. Parents can also use it tio explain the concept to their kids. I love it! I'm loving Pixar more and more
I'd give this 5 out of 5 dimes. For the whole movie, for the message it sends, for the fun, for everything!
