Twilight Movie -- My thoughts
November 26th 2008 13:31
Just watched Twilight the movie about 8 hours ago.
I wasn't all thrilled but not too disappointed either (..ok maybe a little).
I don’t know.. i was a bit disappointed. NOT BECAUSE I READ THE BOOK. No, I didn’t compare it, in fact I can’t even remember details of the book anymore.
Overview
I didn’t feel much chemistry between them. I saw Bella's acting was pretty good -- very Bella. Robert Pattinson seemed a bit awkward to me though. Now tween girls, please do not get all mad and annoyed at my bashing at Pattinson. Yes, he was good looking (not enough for me though
), but the acting wasn't so good, in my opinion.
Then again, Harry Potter kids were lousy actors on the first film but have grown to be tremendous actors now... let's see.
There were certified cutesy-teeny-sparkly moments in the film -- i.e. arms around Bella's shoulder as they walk towards the school.
CAST:
The Cullens - YES PERFECT CASTING. I was a bit apprehensive when I was seeing trailers and interviews.. but they came to be perfect. Dr. Carlisle was perfect.
Jacob.. i look forward to the real acting on the next book.
Humans -- hmm.. so-so. I think they pretty much fit the bill.
ETCETERA
Forks, kinda how i imagined it..maybe we'll see more in the next movie.
Effects.. eerrr.. not so good. a bit rough.
then again, I'd say it's ok for a not so big-budgeted film.
the story/movie itself — didn’t have an impact really. I didn’t feel what was really between bella and edward until the kiss (which was whoa! hahaha) I loved the book, I couldn't put it down. I felt the story all over me -- literally. This one, is a little forgettable. I'm not sure if it's just me and my mood today. haha
The story's supposed to be a love story and an introduction of the vampire and human existence... I think, if I haven't read the book, I wouldn't enjoy it, and wouldn't understand what everything stands for, really.
Then again, I think anyone or everyone watching this must've read the book at least once!
So far i've read good reviews. Like I said.. this is my opinion. didn't like it much.
Good thing I didn't reviews before I watched it. I didn't look at much trailers either so my expectations were set to zero. Maybe that's a factor? hahah I wasn't excited enough so I wasn't into the whole movie?
Maybe I'll try to watch it another day.
for now.. it's a 2.5 dimes out of five. ;p
