The Virginity Hit Movie – Like an “American Pie” Reality Show?

Here’s a movie with a story that moves around about a bunch of young guys (there’s four of them) making fun of one of their friends who’s out to lose his virginity. The Virginity Hit is marketed just like other teen "virginity" films, but it’s unlike others of the topic because it plays out like a reality show, and this is emphasized by the gang’s use of a video camera to document their adventures—at the expense of their poor bespectacled friend. But don't be fooled by the marketing, there's really more to the movie and what it's really all about.
The movie is called The Virginity Hit and is like American Pie all over again. You can expect to see a lot of comedic moments here that attempt to replicate the amusing scenes in the Pie series. Lots of videos are involved here and none of them are close to being ethical, especially when the girl involved doesn’t know anything about them. But thankfully, most of the videos that end up on YouTube involve only their friend, who seems to be incapable of learning from his past mistakes and end up getting pranked. But even so, he seems to take things in stride.
This movie isn’t exactly for everyone. With so many “virgin” films having been made already starting with classics like Porky’s (1981), the marketing positioning may not really be appealing to those who’ve “been there and done that.” It’s easy to become jaded with these kinds of films and you reach an age when you wouldn’t really be looking forward to watching them. Sometimes, the hype is really just, well, hype.
The kids in The Virginity Hit all seem oblivious to the long term repercussions of their antics and do not look ahead to the possibilities of getting sued or even jailed for voyeurism and other acts punishable by the law. But it’s a movie, after all and fiction and there’s a reason why it’s classified as Restricted. But in spite of this, The Virginity Hit will definitely appeal to the age group of guys (and even girls) portrayed in the film. If you don’t care for the subject matter in this movie, it may be useful as a study on how young people manage to use technology and the Internet in order to fulfill their sexual goals (kidding). Somehow, you get the feeling that the things depicted in the The Virginity Hit actually happen in real life. But then again, there's always a message somewhere and it's up to the viewer to find it to appreciate The Virginity Hit. You may realize that it's really not so much about losing one's virginity.
The Virginity Hit is written and directed by Huck Botco and Andrew Gurland. Both were also involved in the production of Mail Order Wife (2004) and The Last Exorcism (2010).
