Stan Helsing Makes Fun of Horror Movie Bad Dudes
October 2nd 2009 06:29
Next to superhero movies, horror movies are the next favorite of filmmakers to spoof in a comedy. For some reason, it’s funny to see serious horror movie antagonists trying to make people laugh. These spoofs are very popular in Halloween and a lot of people prefer to watch these instead of the the serious ones just for the fact that they want to feel good for the holiday.
Well, here’s another horror spoof called Stan Helsing which shows all-time favorite horror characters from Jason, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Chucky, Pinhead, and The Creeper in a fresh and amusing light. Of course, this spoof won’t be complete without the spoof king himself, Leslie Nielsen, who plays a “dame” in this movie. Viewers can expect a lot of slapstick fun and puns in this one inspired by old favorites like Dracula. It’s also got a lot of sexy girls.
The main character, Stan Helsing, is of course our “unlikely-young-video-store-c lerk-hero” who must make the most difficult choice of saving the world from evil movie monsters. Of course he has his equally unlikely team of monster busters to help him. It all begins when Stan and his gang set out to deliver videos to a ghost town in California.
Stan’s group end up in an old Hollywood set where they meet up with our old-time-favorite horror goons getting into all manner of situations that would make you wince, shake your head, and laugh at the same time. The movie is supposed to be classified as Restricted, so you can expect a lot of adult humor and sexy scenes here. It wouldn’t be such a worthwhile movie to watch if it didn’t have these, right?
Stan Helsing is written and directed by Bo Zenga. Zenga was executive producer of Scary Movie in 2000. He also works as an actor occasionally and appeared in Star Trek Deep Space 9 as Asoth in 1993.
