Knight and Day for Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz

How does one turn a serious topic about spies and international intrigue into a comedy? Add a crazy, no-nonsense agent and an ordinary woman who just wants to get through the day together and you have the formula for laughs. Put Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in the picture and you have a movie that's a potential long-term money maker. The movie's title? Knight and Day.
Yes, Hollywood and the audience it caters to just can't get enough of spies and chicks that get caught up in a web of intrigue and espionage action. In Knight and Day, Tom Cruise plays a happy-go-lucky agent who enjoys the ride and the mayhem he leaves behind after he shoots his guns and smooth-talks his way in and out of situations, most of which include Cameron Diaz's character.
As it turns out, Cruise's crazy character, Milner, is as intriguing and sticky as a paper note and Diaz has to be content in having him around are her world turns upside down with her having to dodge bullets and flying cars along the highway. It all starts with the characters being on the same plane together Things get out of hand in the plane as Diaz's character, June, does a few personal things in the bathroom. When she comes out, she discovers that everyone is dead except for Milner, who, apparently, is the one responsible. Well, since the pilots are gone, they have to land, or crash, the plane together.
June finds that her life has been manipulated as she finds herself with blanks in her memory - as if she had fallen asleep and all that happened before was just a dream. Of course, no one believes her story and the only way to make sense out of all that's happened is to join Milner. Rough skyrocketing action and comedy are the result as the unlikely duo travel across nations to get to the end of a mission that actually plays less of a role in the story than the relationship between Milner and June. That's what audiences would only be interested in when watching Knight and Day. It's not a movie you would take seriously.
