Heath Ledger Comes to Life in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

The wonder of Hollywood is that it can make people who have passed away come to life again. Take Heath Ledger for instance, who we last saw in the movie The Dark Knight as the Joker. He was given a posthumous Oscar Award for his performance there. For many, Heath Ledger will always be the Joker as his version of the nefarious character was very different from the others that came before.
But The Dark Knight wasn't Ledger's last movie. When he died, he was filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, a tale about life and death and making dark deals with the devil. It's the story of how one man's greed can make a person sacrifice important things in his life in a devious game where deals are paid for by other deals. Doctor Parnassus is going to be real sorry near the end. Of course, that's where the story culminates to the climax - the battle between good and evil and the people caught up in the middle.
Ledger plays the mysterious character who tries to save Paranassus's daughter from being taken by the devil as payment for "services rendered." Of course, since Ledger couldn't complete all the scenes required of him due to his untimely demise, the producers and director of the movie had to call in the other actor options such as Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell. Although they do not look alike, they all play the same character meant for Ledger's. In a fancy storytelling and visual "bandage," the director succeeds in seamlessly fusing the fantasy scenes of the same character played by different actors into a believable sequence, taking the audience into different imaginary worlds.
Of course, Ledger is still the star of this movie and it's Hollywood's way of bringing him back to life long after his passing. It's a kind of tribute that will likely still have people talking and wondering if it's another Oscar-winning role for the actor. The movie also stars model-actress Lily Cole as Parnassus's daughter Valentina.
