Death to Death Race

About 2 weeks ago, friends and I met up for a Saturday night Seafood Dinner and well, an anything goes night (errr.. only the good, clean kinda anything goes).
After dinner and waiting for another friend to meet us -- who said he'll meet us in an hour at the seafood place -- we decided to go south and watch a movie. Any movie we can still catch at that late hour.
We only had a few choices... Wall-E, Smother and Death Race (there were 2 local films, but we hate Filipino wannabee romantic-comedies)... Seeing that I was with 3 guys and no one else, Smother was obviously out of the picture. We would see Wall-E but while waiting for the 4th guy to arrive, the last screening of Wall-E already started hence, we ended up with Death Race. Not bad since again, I'm with 3 (possibly 4) testosterones, I was fine with it.
I didn't mind because to be honest I was just wanting to sit on a cozy chair (yes, Philippine Cinemas have really cozy and clean chairs
).
Now let's get on with the movie.
#1. Oh So Predictable.
#2. Pure Testosterone (yeah just what I needed hahah)
#3. Did I already say Predictable?
Yeah. It was boring. Sure there was a lot of Action -- Car racing and well Death (haha as the title imposes). No real story to it. Although it's not far that America's economy will die that fast that soon (harharhar), I highly doubt it'll be as desperate as that.
Pretty ironic is the fact that although economy has sunken that low, to a point where Prisons and Correctional Facilities are the #1 businesses all over their nation, they have enough viewers who pay to watch that. Millions as the movie says -- millions of pay per view subscribers. Who'd still have that money and who'd still be watching if most corporate businesses have become prisons already?
Oh well.. just a thought.
I would think it would make for a GREAT video game though. I like the concept of the armors and shields that you have to drive by... the navigator who's the only one who knows the circuit... it's very video-game-y
I would've thought they would have one ready by now!
I think the only thing I enjoyed was this:
Hahaha! oh well. at least there was something
1 out of 5 dimes.. and that 1 is for Statham alone!
